What Is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal uses an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to remove the hair without damaging the skin. During the session, pigment in hair follicles absorbs the light, leaving the skin undamaged and inhibiting future hair growth. There is little discomfort. At worst, it feels like a flick of the finger against the skin.

What is the process like?
While it is a very simple procedure, laser hair removal is still a medical procedure. Just beforehand, treated hair will be trimmed to a few millimeters above the skin surface. The laser equipment will be adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of your hair being treated as well as your skin color.
Next, the certified technician will send a pulse of light to the treatment area and watch the area for several minutes to make sure everything went well and to monitor for any reactions.
After the procedure is completed, the technician will consult with you. You may be given cold water, anti-inflammatory creams or lotions, or ice packs to help with any discomfort. At this time, it would be best to schedule your next treatment for a few weeks later. From that point on, you’ll get treatments until the hair in the area is gone for good.
Afterwards, the area may feel and look like a mild sunburn. But this discomfort only lasts a few days. Over the next month your treated hair will fall out, and by the end of the treatments will never be a bother to you again!

How painful is laser hair removal?
The pain level of laser hair removal is considered to be in between that of waxing and shaving. It’s not as painful as waxing and provides better longer, lasting results. Many people describe it as not more than a slight pinch while others don’t feel any pain at all. Pain tolerance is highly individual.
